Drive

Saw this yesterday afternoon. I was shocked but happy that Kenwood Theatre allowed the use of a coupon! They typically don't let you use the BOGO coupon till the movie's been out for a couple weeks. You can find them in X-Cash or Bearcash coupon books.

The way they handled the violence was brilliant. Except for in a couple scenes, they only ever showed split seconds of gore at a time, leaving much to the imagination with great use of shadows, camera angles, and sound effects. Just when you think you won't see anything, they'd cut to it very unexpectedly. There was never enough time to look away, no unseeing what you just saw. It was very well-acted, beautifully shot, and will be added to my DVD collection as soon as it comes out.

While I was happy that the trailer didn't give anything away, I can see how some people might have been disappointed, if what they were expecting was non-stop action + loads of graphic violence.

I also loved the soundtrack- not just these singles in particular but the film score as well. Buy the soundtrack for $7.99 on Amazon, or $9.99 on iTunes.

Kavinsky & Lovefoxxx - Nightcall

Desire - Under your spell

Chromatics - Tick of the clock

Ryan Gosling is quickly becoming my favorite actor. I want to have his babies... or at least attempt making them with him. Sorry James :)
